David Abbasi, M.D.

Dr. Abbasi serves as ringside physician for professional MMA and Boxing events, as well as being the Official Team Physician for Palm Beach State College Panthers Athletics.

Dr. David Abbasi is a Double Board Certified and Fellowship trained Orthopedic Surgeon specializing in Sports Medicine and Arthroscopic Surgery. His expertise includes the latest innovations and most advanced techniques for minimally invasive surgery and open reconstructive treatments, as well as nonsurgical management and rehabilitation including Regenerative Medicine. His treatment plan is unique with each patient and his goal is to help all of his patients reach their maximum potential.

Dr. Abbasi is recognized nationally and internationally for being consulted and trusted to take care of many of the top professional mixed martial arts (MMA) and other professional athletes in the world including competitors in the UFC, Bellator, and ONE Fighting Championships. He has given lectures and taught on topics such as knee ACL reconstruction, open knee ligament reconstruction, shoulder labral repair, and elbow Tommy John surgery on the elite athlete. He also is very active with social media and has been referenced and interviewed by many of the top sports entertainment media personalities and channels, sports medicine shows, and podcasts. In addition, he serves as a ringside physician for the top professional boxing and mixed martial arts events and promotions including the UFC.

He earned his undergraduate degree at the University of Iowa and completed medical school at Loyola University Stritch School of Medicine in Maywood, Illinois. Dr. Abbasi then completed his orthopedic surgery residency at the University of Cincinnati Hospitals where he served as chief resident. He completed an additional fellowship year of specialty training in orthopedic sports medicine at the prestigious Doctor’s Hospital / UHZ Sports Medicine Institute in Coral Gables, FL.

Dr. Abbasi has extensive hands-on experience treating sports injuries from all sports at the highest levels including high school, collegiate, and professional athletes including the NCAA Cincinnati Bearcats and Florida International University Panthers, the NHL Florida Panthers, and NFL Miami Dolphins.

Dr. Abbasi is the Official Team Physician for Palm Beach State College Panthers Athletics.
